I updated my Thunderbird to the latest version and I am unable to use it. All my emails are stuck because I am unable to get past the Master Password window.

What specific action is failing - are you unable to type in the password window? And what version is installed?

Thanks for the response. The problem occurs only with Thunderbird installations where a MASTER PASSWORD has been set. Once the app starts, the first window to enter the password shows up, then I enter the password and wait for the second window. That is now somehow "attached" to the main Thunderbird window and impossible to access. Since I am unable to go past the second step, Thunderbird simply freezes. I tried reinstalling but same problem, I tried Time Machine restore, but I encounter another error with the modification of my profile. Thunderbird 91.1.1 (64-bit) MAC on Big Sur.

Another colleague of mine has the same problem. I have attached a screenshot of how it looks like.
