Setting up a new Windows 10 computer with same old printer.

The printer does not appear in the destination dropdown menu. Various MS options show up, but not the actual printer.

Have run the mfr driver installation, manually added the printer in Windows devices, and rebooted.

solved: completely uninstalled and reinstalled as per https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/windows-10-driver-is-unavailable/7dba651d-1822-46af-990c-5ec4ae29bbbd
