I'm getting sick of this Foxfire. Once again, I can't load mewe.com. I don't find any of these foxfire pages that help. It should be simple to unblock a site it that is a problem. But I can't find any way to do that! I think they are trying to force us to go else where.

Chosen solution

OK... Found the simple fix. Go to control Panel and click on the program "Fire Fox". It gives you a choice to delete it or fix it.... I chose fix it.

  Why didn't any of you know that?

Have you tried Troubleshoot Mode - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/diagnose-firefox-issues-using-troubleshoot-mode

Also, it's helpful to include System Details when you post.

Yep. It wants to disable something and I can't have that. What is system details? It is Foxfire browser.

Did you try the suggestions we gave you in your previous thread?

Now it opens Mewe in the private thing but not the ordinary page. How do you tell this thing to always open Mewe?

If Mewe opens in a PB mode window then it is likely that cache or cookies are corrupted.

You can try these steps in case of issues with webpages:

You can reload webpage(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Settings).

"Remove the Cookies" for websites that cause problems:

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Data"

"Clear the Cache":

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> Cached Web Content: Clear

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window

That is also how you previously fixed it:

If it happens again then try "Forget About This Site".

You can remove all data stored in Firefox for a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data for that website will be saved once again.

I am 75 and had a stroke. I lost my short term memory. So like as not I will forget again. And I will forget about this site. I can't even remember the first line of this post.
