Display video (& graphics) with random "image noises" after upgrade to Firefox 89.0

more options

Platform: Raspberry Pi 4, Ubuntu MATE 20.04.2 (Linux 5.4.0-1036-raspi) , Firefox 89.0+build2-0ubuntu0.20.04.2

When displaying video (e.g. youtube) and graphics, the output show "image noises".

I have taken an snapshot and attached an screendump.

The areas enclosed by Thick Black Pencil shows the symtom.

1. Previous version of Firefox ( 75.0+build3-0ubuntu1 ) did not have the problem.

2. Other browser (e.g. Chromium) displaying the same video does not have the problem, so it seems it is Firefox related.

3. In a certain extend, this also affect outside video frames within Firefox evem in Settings page, see second attachment.

Please kindly shine some light.

Just an update:

Problem disappear after downgrade to Firefox 75.0 build 3 using apt-get install firefox=75.0+build3-0ubuntu1.

So this is an issue with 89.0.

I came here through a link you made on someone else's thread who runs Windows with AMD, where you'd mentioned it's a problem with Firefox version 89.0. I also run Windows with AMD had the same problem in version 89.0, but am now having the same problem in 89.0.2. I can't remember how I got it to go away last time!
