Why is it every time you update you screw everything up? Now the tab bar at the top under bookmarks is replaced with some colored waste of space and tabs at the bottom so metro taskbar pops up and hides it? Customize? And only ONE tab? So sessions are gone entirely? Why constant fear of updating and losing everything and spending hours trying ti fix it AGAIN!???

Your "tabs on bottom" code in your userChrome.css file needs to be updated. The old code drops all the tabs to the bottom of the browser in a stack. Many threads on this. For example:

https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1338147

So sessions are gone entirely?

If you mean "Where is Restore Previous Session now?" Either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > History > Restore Previous Session
  • (menu bar) History > Restore Previous Session

If they are missing or grayed, check either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > History > Recently Closed Windows
  • (menu bar) History > Recently Closed Windows

Yes I assumed I had to once again add that code back. I wonder if those coding FFx hang their file folders with the tab DOWN? I guess the session is there but only current tab is visible unless your opening or closing a tab. Kind of odd to hide all tabs except the current one. Makes it real difficult to switch to an open tab in current session...

That is caused by the broken "tabs on bottom" code. If you delete the broken code, all your tabs will be visible on top where the developers intended.

Quick fix nuke the userChrome.css! Still do not understand the logic of "page tabs" up by and same color as title bar. Above buttons/address/bookmarks/plugins instead of next to the pages that own the tabs. And the fix always assumes no css. Still trying to find my hint text file, but prolly will not work. Maybe one day I will try to find the fix again. Looks like trick my fox or something uses the same css. Strange this time they did not clobber title text or lose ALL of the previous session. Still miss the footer bar and having plugins there. Reminds me of m$ logic...RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!

Did you find some "tabs on bottom" code that works for you in Firefox 89? In addition to the simpler fixes on Reddit and here, you could take a look at the comprehensive repository maintained by Aris, the author of the (no longer available) Classic Theme Restorer extension.

Gave up for now. Next time I allow them to "update" they will break it again... Will save and maybe sort through it later. I do despise it almost as much as aero! Thanks
