At&t Yahoo Server not working with email clients
Last week I started having problems with Outlook not signing into the AT&T Yahoo Email server. I never changed my incoming and outgoing mail settings. I called into the At&T Digital Assistance Center and finally got a hold of someone that told me they were having problems and the Engineers were looking into it. This week I tried again with no success. For some reason my outlook settings are not working with this email server. I know my password is correct because I can go on the internet and sign in directly to their website. So, a friend of mind suggested that I try Thunderbird. I installed it and used the default settings it suggested for AT&T Yahoo (pop3 - Inbound.att.net and outbound.att.net). Still no success login into this email server. I tried calling AT&T again, but I can't seem to get any answers of what is going on or they don't know themselves.
Please any help is appreciated. If this is a know issue please let me know what is going on or a work around for this problem. I would be happy to use thunderbird as my email client. I just want something that works and also be able to export my mail to thunderbird.
Thanks, Kevin kritchie@bellsouth.net

You must create a secure mail key on the AT&T site and use it in place of the account password.

sfhowes,
Thank you very much. I had tried this once but it didn't work. However, I also was using my original incoming and outgoing mail setting from before. This time I deleted these settings and started over using the recommended settings of inbound.att.net and outbound.att.net. I also used ctrl "V" to paste the password in whereas before I tried to type it in (Could have had it wrong). Anyways it worked this time. I'm so grateful you posted this solution because I've been fighting with this for several days and getting frustrated with calling AT&T and getting transferred around. Again, thank you.
Sincerely, Kevin
