Bookmarks won't import the way i left them

SO frustrating. I spent hours meticulously arranging years worth of bookmarks so I could have a fresh start on my machine only for them to refuse to upload.

Hi, does Firefox give you an error message, or what happens?

Firefox has the option to Export bookmarks to an HTML file or Back up bookmarks to a JSON file.

The HTML export file can be opened in a tab to confirm that it looks like a web page full of links.

JSON files are very densely packed text with a lot of punctuation; they look very different. To apply a backup to Firefox, use Restore instead of Import.
