I try to send email via cox.net and get the below error.

An error occurred while sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: cxr-obgw-5001a.stratus.cloudmark.com cmsmtp 68.89.70.198 blocked. Refer to Error Codes section at https://www.cox.com/residential/support/email-error-codes.html for more information. AUP#CXDNS.

I can receive fine.

Thank you in advance, Steve

What are your smtp settings? Cox suggests smtp.cox.net on port 465, SSL/TLS security, authentication = normal password, User Name = part of address before @ (or, might be full address)

Thank you for responding.

Yes, those are the settings. Tried using full user and before "@". Same error.

Are you connecting through a VPN?

You could try resetting the DNS cache with Winkey+R, ipconfig.exe /flushdns

Still nogo.

Would it matter that the ISP is AT&T Fiber?

Also, I am able to send if I connect wifi to the phone hotspot. Also, I am able to send work emails (different computer) with or without the VPN enabled.

If you can send through the hotspot, it suggests your TB settings are OK, so it might be related to the Fiber connection.

It doesn't hurt, and often helps, to reset (power off/on) the modem/router.

'Incorrect greeting' indicates an authentication issue. Try removing the passwords in Options/Security/Passwords/Saved Passwords, restart TB, and enter the password when prompted.
