How can I get firefox to save a web page correctly to Microsoft Print to Pdf with NO HASSLE, just like I can in Chrome or Edge?

Looks like this problem is still not fixed. Still forced to open page in different browser.

Hmm, what is happening when you use that printer that is different from other browsers?

Firefox has some print layout bugs. You can already see them in the Print Preview screen and don't have to wait for the PDF to be generated. You can open Print Preview using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > Print
  • (menu bar) File > Print Preview

Are those the issues there, or is it something printer-specific?

Hi, thanks for responding When you want to save a web page, you are basically locked in to saving it as a web page (ex: html). I don't want that. I want to save the page as a pdf for possible use later. In Windows 10 you can opt to print to Microsoft PDF. If you're using Chrome or Edge, you get the whole page saved, but in Firefox you only get the first page. I have spent way too much time trying to find a solution. The easiest one so far is to copy a link to the page and open it in a different browser where it can be printed to a pdf.

Craig

Hi Craig, there are plenty of pages where Firefox fails to "paginate" the content and what doesn't fit on a particular page just disappears off the bottom. It's not a secret -- there is work ongoing to fix those issues this year.

For now, you could use a browser that doesn't have that issue, or if you find benefits to using Firefox and have another minute of patience, you could try my add-on which has buttons to modify pages in various ways to make them print correctly. It also has a Save as PDF feature with some extra options (unfortunate not "live" links).
