Your screenshot shows that you have selected "Never Remember History". This means that Private Browsing mode is active and you can select "Remember History" to disable/exit Private Browsing mode.

Hello jason,

If "Ask to save logins and passwords for websites" is greyed out, you're probably in permanent private browsing mode.

Would you please do this :

3-bar menu (or "Tools") → Options → Privacy & Security → under "History":

Firefox will : choose "Use custom settings for history".

Uncheck : "Always use private browsing mode".

McCoy, when I initially searched for an answer to my question, I found your suggestion (explained by another user). The problem I ran up against is, when I click on the three-bar menu I don't see "options". Same thing under the "Tools" dropdown menu. I'm using Mac OS 10.15.4 and Firefox 75.

Aww, my bad .... I should have checked your system details.

On Mac "Options" is "Preferences" - my apologies !
