Openening a new Firefox browser with MSN.com as start page I have to perform Ctrl-F5 each time
LS,
MSN.COM is my home page.
I have the latest version installed.
I have multiple computers and they ALL have this problem.
On this computer I only installed AdBlock plus.
Every time I open FireFox and everytime MSN.COM is opened I have to perform Ctrl-F5 in order to get a decent working webpage.
It will not show many pictures untill I perfrom Ctrl-F5.
Also some functions do not work properly. Sometimes Microsoft shows a message in which I have to click on OK to continue, this doesn't work until I hit Ctrl-F5.
I do not have a virus.
It is getting annoying, I had hoped this would be solved with an update, but apperently this is not the case.
This problem only occurs at MSDN.COM all other pages are fine???
Hope you can help or solve this.
Kind regards,
Clemens Linders

If you are using a Private Browsing window or are in permanent Private Browsing mode (Always Use Private Browsing Mode or Never Remember History) the exception for Enhanced Tracking Protection will not be saved from session to session.
Instead of Private Browsing Mode, you will need to go to - Menu -> Options -> Privacy & Security under History select *Use Custom Settings For History de-select *Always Use Private Browsing Mode select *Clear History When Firefox Closes select *Settings In the selection window select:
- Browsing and Download History
- Cookies
- Cache
You should now be able to set an exception to Enhanced Tracking Protection for your Homepage and clear unwanted cookies, cache and history when Firefox closes.

Hi clemenslinders, Launch Firefox and when your Homepage opens click on the shield icon on your address bar. Set the Enhanced Tracking Protection button to OFF. The page should reload automatically. This will set an Exception for MSN in Enhanced Tracking Protection in your Options.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
- do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

You can possibly try to use "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear some data like the disk cache to see if that has effect.
Hi Robert, If I open Firefox and click on the shield icon and set Enhanced Tracking Protection to off.
Then indeed the website shows and acts as it should.
However....
If I close Firefox and reopen Firefox, I have to do the same actions again. It doesn't appear to remember this setting for this website.
Is there a way to overcome this??

Hi Robert,
When I disable enhanced tracking protection. The shield sign at the MSN. Com website is gray with a diagonal bar across.
Then I click on that icon (again) and at the bottom of the pop-up I click: Protective settings (translated from Dutch). A new page opens. I click on Manage exceptions.
A popup opens and all the exceptions should be listed here. But unfortunately, MSN. Com is not listed here (the list is empty).
So that is probably why after I restart Firefox it doesn't remember this.
Hope this helps to find a solution.
Kind regards,
