What is going on? On Christmas day I get a large popup telling me about TBird 68 (Mine is 68.3) which is strange enough in itself. On the following day I have no TBird at all. It has mysteriously vanished, seemingly having uninstalled itself. Reinstalling returned everything to normal use, fortunately.

what anti virus are you using? we have heard about spurious update notifications from kaspersky causing odd update issues and for some incomplete updates.

I have no idea why your update failed. But it is all good now, so there is not really anything that can be done from a support perspective.
