Hi f-trnt,

The reason for the disparity in ram is that Windows Task Manager measures overall memory used by a process while Firefox Task Manager is used to show what resources Firefox is using and troubleshoot which tabs or extensions are slowing down Firefox.

To troubleshoot memory issues see : Firefox uses too much memory or CPU resources - How to fix

Let me know if this helps.
