Firefox displays a "failure to download" when the download proceeded.

When I go to download something from the internet, Firefox displays a "failure to download message". However upon looking in the download file the file appeared despite Firefox saying that it did not. AVG (my current antivirus) was also updated today if that helps.

hi, is your device/account somehow protected by windows parental controls?

the problem you're seeing is likely https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1586228 which is currently under investigation...

I am the admin of the computer and never enabled parental controls (or set up parental controls for that matter), but the symptoms are all identical to the problem that you linked to. Thank you.

can you take a look in the registry of the affected system if there's a "Users" folder existing at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Parental Controls?

you can open the registry editor by pressing the windows-key+r and opening "regedit"...

ok, in this case please try to right-click and export it first in order to back it up. then delete the "Users" key/folder and see if this is making a difference.

It worked, Thanks!
