How can I force a website to open the .com?
I'm trying to access the US wesbite for retailer Sephora but it keeps redirecting me to the French site. I have tried removing cookies, turning off location and also installing a plugin called always.com but I can't figure out how to force it to go to the .com address?
The always.com plugin looked ideal, but after choosing to add it, I can't see it anywhere and if I try again it insists that it is already installed!
Thanks

You can't even contact their customer support if you're located in the UK or the Netherlands - if at least that were possible, you could ask them to provide the information you're looking for.
The only thing I can think of right now is to contact them on Twitter : @Sephora

Hi EstelleB, many sites guess your location based on your IP address, an address assigned by your internet provider.
You can see the geographic information associated with your current IP address using a site such as the following: https://www.iplocation.net/ (different data providers may have slightly different information)
If you need to connect through a different IP address, you an use a VPN (virtual private network). Since the VPN then becomes your internet provider and sees all your connections, make sure to select a reputable VPN service.
Your preferred language might also be a factor. You can view the languages Firefox sends to websites on the Options page:
- Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
- Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
- Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
- Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it
In the search box at the top of the page, type lang and Firefox should filter to the "Language" section. Then click the "Choose" button and you can edit the languages Firefox sends to websites, for example, putting "English (United States)" first.
Hello EstelleB,
If you are located in the UK or the Netherlands, sephora.com will redirect you to sephora.fr - see :

Hi Guys - thanks for your responses. I only want to get briefly onto this one US site to identify locations for a future trip!
Can anyone let me know if there is a quick way to get around what is happening?
Thanks

Good luck - and : my pleasure !
Couldn't let it go just yet and found these search results for you. Maybe give them a ring ?
'Found an address :
WRITE US. Address:
Sephora USA, Inc. First Market Tower 525 Market Street, 32nd Floor San Francisco, CA 94105. Phone: 1-877-SEPHORA (1-877-737-4672).
And here are some more search results .....
Brilliant, thank-you for this.
The obvious way to do this is to use a VPN service and choose an end point in the USA.
