After a month I have 4500 new or changed files in Cache2. Looking to speed up my backups.

Thanks for any help.

Chosen solution

The cache can be cleared from Tools/Options/Advanced/Network & Disk Space, but as far as backup, you only need to backup the Thunderbird folder, located at C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird

The cache folders are in subfolders of the C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Thunderbird folder, and don't contain any significant data, for backup purposes. To save space and time in backups, you could compact folders to eliminate deleted messages.
