Hi there The newer version of Thunderbird doesn't seem to allow me to open my attachment. Save seems to be the only option. I like to double check I attached the right file

Is this intentional, or a bug in the new upgrade? Thank you

Dez

There were a lot of changes in attachments handling in V60. But you are the first I have seen complaining of attachments not opening.

At what point is this occurring? only in the compose window? or all attachments?

Hi Matt It happens with all attachments in TB

For example, if I right click an attachment and select "open", I get a save window popping up If I right click "save", I get a save window also

There is no way of opening the attachment to view it anymore

Unless I save it somewhere and open the saved file. So extra steps are now involved, which is a pain Cheers Dez

I suggest you try the following as a first step. Lots of existing add-on did not make the transition nicely at all, so I am on the hunt to the bad ones.

Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". If Thunderbird works like normal, there is an Add-on or Theme interfering with normal operations. You will need to re-enable add-ons one at a time until you locate the offender.

Thanks I just tried this Unfortunately, the problem still exists

It even did it in safe mode

I tried un-ticking the VIEW/DISPLAY ATTACHMENTS ONLINE Option, then re-ticking it, but no luck

I have not reinstalled any addons, in normal mode but same problem
