Why am I only seeing the last 2 weeks of emails?

My iPad only keeps 2 weeks worth of incoming mail, but I would expect all my emails to be on my laptop (which is where Thunderbird lives). I'm suspecting a synching issue but have no idea how to resolve it.

You might want to Google POP vs IMAP so you understand how the 2 protocols work and differ.

If you are using IMAP and deleting all but 2 weeks worth of email then that is all you are going to see anywhere. That is how IMAP works. You delete a message from any device or at the server, it is gone everywhere.

I always assumed that the mail in my ipad was essentially suppressed to save space, not actually deleted, since the mail remains on my Mac in Apple Mail (which has its own issues, which is why I’m using Thunderbird). Thanks, I will look into this from the Apple side.

Is your apple mail setup as pop or imap.

IMAP on the ipad, POP on the Mac. I think I have the answer to my question. Thanks!
