Means you got something installed that is setting Google as the homepage. Like toolbars are malicious for this.

A little confusion here .... Google is not a browser, but a search engine. Google's browser is Chrome.

Could you be a bit more specific about what's happening, please  ?

Do you see Google as default search engine (which it is in Firefox) while you want another search engine  ? You can set your default search engine in the 3 bar menu (or 'Tools')

Or is there something completely different going on  ?

If Google (Google Chrome?) takes back the default browser setting then you need to disable this in the Google Chrome settings.

Patiently waiting for an answer ......

managed to get rid of chrome that was hiding where you wouldn`t think of. had to go through lots of files to find it.
