All the sudden when I open a new tab it is no longer blank. It is now a search engine page called SafeSearch (https://www.safesearch.net/). Checking in options and add-ons this SafeSearch is nowhere to be found. It is rare that I download anything from the Internet. And if I'm going to do so, it is never without doing a ton of research first so I know what I'm getting. Even then I use 3 different security programs to search the file for any kind of crap. So I know I did not download this.
Do you know what this is? How did I get this? Why my settings are to open new tabs as blank, yet I have this? How do I get rid of this?

This often happens when you have an add-on that is taking over your search engine. Try disabling SearchIncognito 6.9 (@sdfykhhhfg) from your add-ons, that may be the culprit.

Thank you. That was the problem. They just did an update July 10th which coincides with when this started. It must have been in that update.
Can you tell me where you got the add-on from? I'll file a bug to get it blocked
