google is default, removed bing but google searches switch to bing everytime

This just started recently, leads me to believe it is malware or firefox hack. no virus shows up, i removed bing from firefox completely and google is default but each time i search using google it brings up the google page but before you can click on anything it switches to a bing search page, which is worthless.

How do I fix this, I really don't want to lose all my extensions and add on's in firefox, taking long time to get it how i like it lol.

Hi, you have some program that you might have installed that added a extra program, so please search for Programs & Features and look through the list of installed programs and uninstall anything you do remember installing. Or is straight malware, either way below is to do.

This could be an issue caused by AdAware or Web Companion from Lavasoft.

You can look for a file named dsengine.js in these locations.

C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref\
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref\

You can look for a file named dsengine.cfg in the main Firefox program folder.

C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\

Delete the dsengine.js and dsengine.cfg files when present.
