How do I use a flash drive for my active bookmarks in firefox?

Not to make a copy, but as the source of active bookmarks.

Chosen solution

You can backup bookmarks or save them as an HTML file and store them on a USB drive, but you can't use the USB drive as the source location for your bookmarks. What I mean is that you can't have Firefox load your bookmarks from a USB, edit them and have them automatically saved back to the USB.

Bookmarks are stored in your Firefox Profile folder, which is locally stored on your computer. You can use a portable version of Firefox to run off of a USB device, but these versions are not supported by Mozilla.

More information about backing up and restoring bookmarks can be found in the Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer support documentation.
