I edited my Bookmarks and some end up missing, others doubled, sometimes in different folders than they belong. Just wacky. Is this a known issue.? v 60.0.2 with Mavericks.

It looks like you are using the Bookmarks Organizer addon on Firefox to organize your bookmarks. Addons are developed and maintained by third party developers. You need to reach out to the addon developer for more information on this issue.

You should also check out; [v57+] Places Maintenance is built into Firefox.

Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.

You will find Places Database near the bottom. Press the Verify Integrity button.

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues. You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.

Flash: Grab the uninstaller from here:

http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html Uninstall Flash Player | Windows

http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html Uninstall Flash Player | Mac

Then reinstall the latest version.

Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.

I removed Bookmarks Org. For what it's worth, what that plug/ext is suppose to do would be welcome in Firefox as a built-in feature of Firefox. Bookmarks organization needs to be better. Safari does it right, last time I looked. I can find bookmarks and see what "collection" they are in.

And ran the Flash uninstaller but I'm still left with Shockwave Flash 1.5.5 aka 10.r45 updated March 2010. Current Shockwave Flash v 30.0.0.113 is for OSX 10.10 or later.

Due to my audio software, I'm staying at 10.9.

The requirements for Flash are somewhat inconsistent. Some say OS X 10.9 and some say 10.10 as minimum.

If 30 definitely isn't working then try an older version (29 or 28) to see if you can install.

After doing what I described above, the Bookmarks folder is still adjusting itself. Things go missing or end up where I don't expect or shouldn't be.

Also, FWIW, It would be rather helpful, if an email were "instant" sent when there is an update to the thread.

Are you using Sync?

If "Verify Integrity" on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page cannot repair places.sqlite then remove all places.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder. Firefox will rebuild places.sqlite and restore the bookmarks from a recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

You may have to restore an older JSON backup from the bookmarkbackups folder.

Not using Sync. This other info is helpful. What is the update interval for "places.sqlite"? Can that interval be changed? I have exported and b.up'd my Bookmarks today as all seems normal after editing.

I tried a Safe start. No change. Refreshed. No change. It seems Bookmark folder with sub-folders are the ones with issues. I can't believe no one else is reporting this.

I completely unistalled FFx v61. Shut down. Reinstalled. Time will tell. Installed no plugs or extensions. Just plain vanilla.

it appears the instability was caused by a plug-in. is there, perhaps, a list of known plugs that aren't stable with FFx Q? I had: ublock 1.16.12 lastpass honey 10.7.5 privacy pas 1 copy short URL 4.4 auto complete 52 reading list 2.4.4
