I've already read the ONLY article that all the suggested answers point to. Here's what I've tried so far. 1. Tried in safe mode. No dice. 2. Looked in options under "attachments" nothing there at all. 3. Checked for the <network.protocol-handler.external-default > setting. It doesn't exist, nor anything like it. 4. Backed up my profile, then uninstalled Thunderbird. 5. Deleted all files under <Program Files>, <app data> and <program data> 6. reinstalled a fresh download of Thunderbird 7. For some reason, it still seems to have all my settings when I open it?? 8. Still won't link to my default browser (Firefox 59.0.3)

When I hit a link in an email, Thunderbird sort of "blinks" slightly. It seems like it's trying to handle it internally, but my version of Thunderbird doesn't seem to have the settings described in the support articles. Any help?

Often, the issue is nothing to do with Thunderbird. It could be the computer is confused and does not know what to do. Perhaps it still thinks you are using a different version of Firefox.

Check computer settings. suggest you uncheck everything, ok it and then reselect and ok. See images as guide
