How can I find out if my child has set up a private browser page?
I was wondering if it is possible to find out if my child has set up a private browser page on my computer?

Hmm, I'm not sure what kind of page that would be.
Firefox has a private browsing mode. When you open a private window, Firefox doesn't record history for what you view in that window. No setup is required. You can find more in this article: Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history.
If you want to monitor where users of the computer go on the internet, you could consider a product such as K9 Web Protection. http://www1.k9webprotection.com/
In addition to the above.
In PB mode Firefox doesn't store any session data in the profile folder. You will have to use monitoring/logging software at the OS level or in the router to keep a record of visited website. Such software should act as a man-in-the-middle to be able to monitor secure connections.

Keep in mind that Firefox extensions can be bypassed by starting Firefox in Safe Mode.
