The password would first get changed via webmail account or via admin. Then you would check you can use that new password to access webmail account. This proves new password works.
Then you would have to change the stored passwords in thunderbird.
- 'Menu icon' > 'Opttions' > 'Options' > 'Security' > 'Passwords' tab
- click on 'Saved Passwords'
- Click on 'Show Passwords'
- Right click on the imap://mail account line and select 'Edit Password'
- Remove old password completely then carefully type in new password, note it is case sensitive
- Do the same for the smtp://mail account line.
- click on 'Close'
- click on 'OK'
Exit Thunderbird.
check:.... Does the new computer allow Thunderbird program? with Thunderbird closed... Access Firewall which may be part of AV program. Make sure Thunderbird is an allowed program.
Start Thunderbird.
Report back on results.
I've just noticed something which you need to check... UserName: name @reimboldye.com is that domain part spelt correctly or did you do a typo ? Should username be : name @reimboldeye.com ?
Right click on mail account in Folder Pane and select 'Settings' Select 'Server settings' 'User Name': please completely remove and then retype in the correct email address.
then do the Outgoing Server. Bottom left Pane..click on 'Outgoing server (SMTP)' select the smtp server to see settings. Is that 'User Name' correct ? If no, click on 'Edit' 'User Name': please completely remove and then retype in the correct email address. click on OK Click on OK
Exit Thunderbird wait a few moments for background processes to complete. Start Thunderbird.
