Hello there. I tried to update Firefox to 58.01, but since updating my antivirus appears to block the firefox.exe.

I uninstalled Firefox completely, then tried to reinstall it but again my antivirus blocked it before I could open firefox.exe

I reinstalled Firefox again, this time disabling my antivirus and Firefox.exe appeared to work again, I was browsing and redownloading my addons. Once the antivirus enabled itself again after 10 minutes, the same problem happened. Firefox shortcuts couldn't find the Firefox.exe, and in the main Mozilla folder, firefox.exe had become firefox.exe.sig

When trying to uninstall it after this happens, I can't uninstall it through normal procedures unless I rename firefox.exe.sig to firefox.exe (which is also unable to run, says it isn't the proper version when it is)

Would appreciate some help here, thank you

Chosen solution

I went into the File Shield section of Avast and added the ProgramFiles\Mozilla folder to exceptions, the browser works now.
