For example, some pages does have the google icons and are not related in any way to google. I tried to delete /recreate it. It didn't work. I tried to Empty Cache (that's what search with google told me to do). I have reinstalled firefox lately and it didn't solve the problem (the problem that made me reinstall firefox was not related to favorites and have appeared after the problem that I'm describing now)

You can consider to delete favicons.sqlite in the profile folder to reset/remove all favicons. This will require to use (visit) each bookmark that you want to have its favicon shown.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Thanks, I do have many bookmarks, but it's still worth-it ^^

So when you uninstall FF did you remove the folder as well and where did you get the FF version your using?

I uninstall FF the "windows" way ; going to "uninstall program", selecting FF, etc... I took the FF version that you can have by going to the 1st page that google shows you when you search FF ( https://www.mozilla.org/ ). I selected "repair" after seeing that this option was available.

So I did not remove any folder by myself when uninstalling FF (and since it was not for that problem, and that solved the other problem I had, I didn't go further)
