My name is Ron and i'm ready to pull my hair out, I don't know what happened but I lost everything some how. I have always used Firefox as my browser and MSN as my home page. Firefox won't remember MSN as my homepage and i can't get my personal menu bar back, It had my personal links like AOL email, YouTube, MSN Logo, Instagram, Ebay, Paypal, and so on. I thought I had a problem like malware or a virus, I use Norton 360, anyway I ran everything and nothing so I called and let them access my computer and he checked everything and nothing but he got everything back, So after a while i closed the Internet down and a little while later i went back on and it was all gone again, I don't know where or what to do, I know nothing about programming or programs, My Brother that use to help me with that kind of stuff andhe passed in 2011 before all of this Firefox was locking up and I always had to reboot start over. I use Windows 7 64b. HHEELLPP

Chosen Solution

Hi,

If you can't find all of your bookmarks and bookmark folders after updating to the new Firefox Quantum (version 57), try this solution:

  1. Click on the Library 57 library icon icon on your Firefox toolbar.
  2. Click on Bookmarks, then click on Bookmarking Tools.
  3. Click on Add Bookmarks Menu to the Toolbar.
    • A Bookmarks Menu Bookmark Menu icon (star on tray) icon will be added to your toolbar.
  4. Click on the new Bookmarks Menu icon. You should get the same Bookmarks Menu as in earlier Firefox versions.

Let us know if this solves the problem.

As for MSN being your home page, you can set it in about:preferences, -- just type it in your URL bar and press enter. Then from there, you can set your default homepage and choose it to open when Firefox starts up.

Make sure toolbars like the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible. Open the Customize window and set what toolbars (Show/Hide Toolbars) and toolbar items to display.

  • Right-click empty toolbar area -> Customize
  • "3-bar" menu button -> Customize
  • View -> Toolbars
    *you can tap the Alt key or press the F10 key to show the hidden Menu Bar temporarily
  • check that "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
  • if "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the Customize palette to the Customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar
  • if missing items are in the Customize palette then drag them back from the Customize window to the toolbar
  • if you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the Customize palette then click the Restore Defaults button in the Customize palette window to restore the default toolbar set.
