Eh? Picasa is a cataloguing program. It doesn't store images, just collates them.

Try asking your question another way.

Picasa "collects" images from folders it is set to monitor. Just set it not to look at the places where your email images go to.

Dear Zenos

Thanks very much for taking the time to reply.

But when I open an email attachment, at the bottom it says: "Welcome to the Picasa photo viewer". I don't want it to go straight into Picasa - it used to go into "Microsoft photo viewer" or some such name (I forget - the option is no longer there).

I've tried to locate "Thunderbird" in the Picasa list of sources to download from, so that I can uncheck it, but I can't find it!

So am still floundering. Any ideas?

John

Correct terminology matters. That would be opening an attachment not downloading one. The helpful information that Toad-hall provided is where you specify the software you want to OPEN the attachment file type when you click it.
