After installing the new Firefox, I cannot find a 'button' [as in the 'old' Firefox] that gives me ALL tabs opened, as these were before shutting down the computer; as these were in the last session just before I closed my computer. I used that button almost always; it enabled me to continue my activities, where I stopped these. Clear ?? Thank you for your assistance !!

Chosen solution

You only need one of the methods.

The classic top menu bar has File, Edit, View and is hidden by default. You can activate it temporarily by tapping the Alt key or F10 key.

You also can show it persistently if you prefer, either:

  • right-click (on Mac Ctrl+click) a blank spot on the tab bar (or the "+" button)
  • (menu bar) View > Toolbars
On Windows, tap the Alt key to activate the menu bar temporarily.
  • in Customize mode > Show/Hide Toolbars (see: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars)

To turn on the Menu Bar, Bookmarks Toolbar, or other bars, click it on the list.

You can use Restore Previous Session. This can be found on:

  • Main menu () > Restore Previous Session
  • History menu on the classic menu bar > Restore Previous Session

If this item is grayed out, either Firefox did not find a previous session history file, or it was already restored. Check the Library menu (), History sub-menu, Recently Closed Windows and Recently Closed Tabs lists.

Thank you for your expeditious response !!

And, your first solution works. So, I can get ahead.

But, the second one [through the history menu] I don't understand. The history menu on the classic menu bar, this entire description is a complete question-mark to me.

Where is that "classic menu bar" ?? I cannot find it.

If you have some time left over [??], I would appreciate if you could explain. Thank you !! But, in the meantime, using your first solution-method I can at least make some progress.

Best regards,

Reinoud
