Firefox doesn't display website backgrounds.
Please forgive me if this was addressed before or is a simple fix; i didn't see anything that seemed to similar on here or googling around. Around sometime last year Firefox started to display all webpages I browsed with grey backgrounds, or no CSS basically. I installed Chrome for a while and it worked just fine out the box, but since that time I have tried installing other types of Firefox (waterfox, palemoon, nightly) and the issue still occurs. In fact the only thing that seems to have changed is that on a brand new install of nightly all the webpages are an eye-searing white now. I have tried repeatedly to my limited knowledge to uninstall and delete all traces of Firefox from my machine before reinstalling new versions; i have no extensions and have cleared my cache and and any other history. Other than this one problem Firefox seems to have no outstanding issues for me.
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1. I don't update regularly, but I have updated a few times this year and nothing seems to change regarding Firefox. PC specs are intel 4790K@4.00GHz, Nvidia GTX 960 graphics card, 16gb ram if that matters.
Here's a basic screenshot comparison. The image uploader here doesn't seem to be working. chrome:https://puu.sh/yh5vi.png Firefox: https://puu.sh/yh5wj.png

At least on Windows, pages without any background colors or background images can be caused by Firefox attempting to match a "high contrast" system theme. To override such a theme and have Firefox shows pages as their authors intended, try this setting:
- Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
- Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
- Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
- Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it
Firefox 56-58: On the right side, scroll down slightly and click the "Colors" button in the Fonts & Colors section.
Firefox 38-55: In the left column, click Content. Then on the right side, click the "Colors" button.
In the Colors dialog, change "Override the colors specified by the page with your selections above" from the default value of "Only with High Contrast themes" to "Never". Then click OK.
Any improvement?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
Separate Security Issue: Update your Flash Player Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.
