Error: Well this is embarrassing. Firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs..........
I only get this error when accessing Firefox. Other browsers work okay. This happened upon the last win10 update.
Chosen solution
This can happen if you use CCleaner to clear Firefox's session data. So try to remove Session for Firefox in CCleaner if you use this software. Current Firefox releases compress the sessionstore files with LZ4 compression (.jsonlz4 file extension) and CClceaner doesn't know about this compression.

This warning will come up after an update or a crash. If you open up a new window and type in about:sessionrestore, the session back up file will load on that page.
You may also be able to check History > Show All History
The sessions backups folder for your profile can be accessed from about:support and clicking on the profile folder. Is there a file with a recent timestamp? That might be the last session, make a copy.
For troubleshooting purposes, did your following session restore the windows and tabs?

@corel, so those supporting the thread can also learn what may have happened here, can you confirm what might be causing the session to not restore?
Is it the method of restoring, the encryption, the change from the last update?
Thanks, Rachel
jscher2000 thinks that this might be related to Firefox changing from uncompressed sessionstore files to compressed .jsonlz4 files that CCleaner currently can't handle and thus corrupts the file when CCleaner is set to clear Firefox session data.
