After installing 56, Firefox hangs, is slow, jerky, videos and games don't work. Hate it. HELP.

Even typing this question, firefox hangs and spins. Now that 56 is installed, no matter what I do, response is delayed. Facebook is jerky. Videos don't play. Game sites are useless as nothing loads. This is MISERABLE!! What fresh He!! is this? What has happened to my favorite browser? Help pages don't help. Anybody out there who can help? [typing this message was excruciating slow, every action gets the spinning ball]
