How do I delete an incorrectly typed name that shows up in the dropdown menu when you click on an open field?
I used to be able to do this by highlighting the unwanted entry and clicking Delete, but just recently (maybe from the past couple of months or a few weeks?), that stopped working. I don't know if it was because of an update to Firefox or what, but it was a cool little thing to be able to do before, and now it's annoying that I can't seem to do that anymore.
Chosen solution
You can use these steps to remove saved (form) data from a drop-down list:
- click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop-down list
- highlight an entry in the drop-down list with cursor Down key
do not click the mouse or press the Enter key - press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to delete the highlighted entry
Note that hovering with the mouse no longer works.

Sorry, that should say "empty" field in the question, not "open."
See if {Ctrl + Delete} works.
That doesn't appear to work, either, the-edmeister.

Thanks, cor-el! That worked. I've always just used the mouse to do the highlighting. Any idea about why it doesn't work with the mouse anymore? Why was that change made?
