How to integrate Internet Download Manager in Mozilla Quantum (Beta Edition)?

In the quantum edition of Firefox, IDM (version 6.28) doesn't install right away automatically. But when I try to integrate it manually by moving the .crx file to extensions in firefox, it displays an error message saying "This extension seems to be broken or corrupt". Can I get any help with it? Thanks.

Chosen solution

A .crx file is a Chrome extension, which is a slightly different format from a Firefox extension.

Can you update IDM to version 6.29?

Edit: Looks like Firefox 57 compatibility was added in version 6.29 build 1: http://www.internetdownloadmanager.com/news.html
