I am trying to turn off redirecting blocking. They say to go to preferences or advanced settings, but I can't find them. They are not in the 3bar menu they are not in options. The articles I find says "Note: This article applies to Firefox version 55 and below. Firefox Options have been reorganized starting in version 56." Is there a article that tells me how to turn off redirecting blocking for FF 56.0? William

William, as bring by cor-el through resources, try to update the value accessibility.blockautorefresh to toggle it from true to false where you are into about:config and tell us if it fits the needs :)

Preferences is used on Linux and Mac. On Windows it is named Options. You can find this item in the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list and in the Tools menu.

  • you can tap the Alt key or press the F10 key to show the hidden Menu Bar temporarily

The warning about reloading or redirecting is meant as an accessibility feature so people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and isn't meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

In Firefox 56+ this setting can no longer be found in Options/Preferences.

You can modify this pref on the about:config page to enable or disable this feature.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.

What line in about:config do I need to modify? To stop redirecting blocking. William

I figured it out on my own. Toggling accessibility.blockautorefresh from true to false worked for me. I was looking for a line like blockautoredirecting that's why I was having trouble.
