I can't get passed this errror message Login to server smtp-server.hawaii.rr.com failed. What do I do?Current answers aren't helpful

I was able to send emails without any difficulty for several years. All of a sudden I can't send anything and get the error message Login to server smtp-server.hawaii.rr.com failed. It offers the choice of retrying, entering my password but neither choice works. I can go into my webmail account on the same computer and it allows me to send emails. Also, my Mozilla email brings in new messages but I just can't send. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
