Stop webpages using geolocation to redirect browser

I can stop geolocation based redirects by falsifying my location (VPN) and a few other tweaks but I would prefer to set Firefox to stop such relocation from taking place - can this be done? It is really annoying when you select a page you want to see only to be redirected to something you have no interest in and of course there is the security aspect of not being in control of what you are being directed to. Any help would be appreciated

Install these extensions:

Disconnect then uBlock Origin, HTTPS Everywhere and NoScript(when it's updated, an learn how to use it). Then make sure you set restrictions on your cookies.

Make sure your current addons are not malicious/double check them.

Run a scan with each of these: JRT: https://www.malwarebytes.com/junkwareremovaltool/

Then the standard app: https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/thankyou/

then remove if wanted (even if you are running an anti-virus you should still scan with these as anti-viruses miss a lot of stuff). Also you shouldn't be redirected like that often...

You need to give permission to a website to use geolocation.

If you aren't seeing this confirmation dialog then websites likely do a reverse DNS lookup of your current IP and the IP you get via your VPN service determines your location. There is not much that you can do about this apart from switching to a different VPN service.

My VPN works fine and I can access pages OK without being redirected by simply using a false IP

The problem is when I am not using VPN (i.e. normal web browsing) that unwanted redirection occurs.

My aim is simple: -

1. I don't want to have to use VPN as it cuts down browsing speed 2. I want to be able to stop redirection in my normal browser without having to use a false IP by tweaking FireFox if possible.

Uncontrollable redirection is fine is you want to be led around by the nose by advertisers and/or malware
