For reasons I don't understand, after many years of opening document & video links in Firefox, several weeks ago they began opening in a Google Chrome window. I don't know why it's happening and I want to stop it.

How do I do that?

Thanks.

Chosen solution

Very likely you (or another software) setup Chrome as your default browser. Go to Preferences/General and check Always make sure Firefox is my default browser. This way, if Firefox isn't your default browser (as I think it's your case), you can set it up as default.

Thanks much.

Since it always opens to FF, I'd not considered that FF was somehow NOT my default browser, but upon checking, it wasn't; and upon redesignating FF as my default, a test link opened in FF... so,

Case closed.

Good, glad I could help.
