Hi,

I am using Thunderbird on few computers and I need to make one Remote Calendar working on all of them. Since I didnt have gmail account on any of them, I created a new account and made a calendar on it, I copied the link both for public and private access and pasted it in the pathway field. After that with a smile of how easy it went I tried to make a test schelude with it and got "Modification_Failed" alert message from Thunderbird and crash info in console (added as attachment).

I have no idea what Im doing wrong and after few hours of thinking what the problem could be I ask for wisdom guys. Any ideas would help.

With Regards, M

Chosen solution

Well, thats what I was trying to do with no good results. Anyway... I found a solution.

I manualy made each local calendar on gmail account, after that I opened Thunderbird, installed Provider for google calendar as christ1 said and after that:

File -> Create -> Calendar -> Remote Calendar -> Google Calendar -> login to the gmail and pick the calendars I wanted.

If I pick iCalendar it still doesnt work thou ;)

Anyway, to all who replied. Thank you for help :)

Delete any Google network calendar you created so far. Restart Thunderbird.

Install this add-on. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/provider-for-google-calendar/

Create your Google network calendar again. You'll be prompted for your Google credentials. That's it.

First above all, thanks for quick reply :)

Thunderbird already has Lightning installed, the Local calendars are made with no problem, the only problem is that I cant make Remote calendar on it. I added the provider add-on anyway as you said, but it still doesnt work - nothing changed.

This got me thinking... If Im using Thunderbird and I want the remote calendar to work, do I need every account to be set on gmail or Should it work on other emails also - as long as I use Thunderbird?

Im asking this because I made a new account and gave all the privaleges to the calendar I made and it works on the other gmail account - didnt try it on thunderbird yet thou.

A local calendar is literally what it says - local. You'll need to create a network calendar in Lightning, and connect it to your Goggle Calendar.

You'd need to talk to Apple about iCalendar.

In any case, if your original problem has been fixed, can you mark the topic as 'Solved' please? Thank you.
