I was given an old, cleaned up Mac laptop circa around 2006. How can I get Firefox? I have tried to download it and it is resisting the process. Please help. I am sick of the censorship and other issues of using Google. Thanks!

It was updated to OS 10-12-6 a few days ago..... should it be able to download now?

Apparantly you didn't post this question from the 'old model', but from an other device - that never occurred to me .........

HI   !

That must be really frustrating   !

Would you please take a look at this article :

How to download and install Firefox on Mac

Is this a bit helpful  ?

I have read this before and tried to follow to a "T". It seems I am unable to get a more updated operating system on this old model. Any suggestions?

According to your system details your version is Mac OS X 10.12.6, which is compatible with the latest Firefox version. If it's your 'old model' that's 'standing in the way' ....... maybe a new(er) model, if at all possible  ?

Firefox support has ended for Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8:

Yes. It shouldn't be a problem to install Firefox under Mac OS X 10.12.

You can find the full version of the current Firefox release (54.0.1) in all languages and all operating systems here:

Okay.....I have downloaded it (54.0.1) twice now today, and it takes me to a page with the Firefox logo, and arrow, and an App box. None of those will open the file and put in on for me. Now what? Thank you.

Don't know if this has anything to do with it, but does that 'old model' meet these requirements :

Recommended Hardware : Macintosh computer with an Intel x86 processor 512 MB of RAM 200 MB hard drive space

Congrats   -   well done   !

But my remark about you posting this from another device couldn't possibly have solved your problem   .......   (?) You can remove that   'Chosen Solution' mark by pressing the   'Undo' button on the right, and then put that mark on whatever post it was that helped you solve the problem.

(You must be sooo relieved   !)
