I don't have your tech savy. Your using words I don't understand. Checked out every portion of FredMcD's very good answer to make sure I got it right before actually doing it. Found the Firefox Download for all languages and confirmed my system is 64 bit. Found Program Files (X86) for Firefox. Will add .old to it. No Thunderbird - did a system search to make sure. Did internet search at encyclopdia2.free dictionary to make sure I knew how to do safe mode starts, because even that uses terminology I don't understand. Ready to go with re-install, but what is an installed binary package? Where is it. How do I find.

Hi there. The binary package is not for your system. When there is a possibility that the Firefox programs/folder is contaminated, we recommend that the Firefox folder be removed. This way, if there is a problem, it is removed.

Download and save the program for your system. Then Close Firefox.

Open the programs folder on your computer and rename any Mozilla or Firefox folders by adding '.old' to them. This will let the installer think there is no Firefox and install everything.

I always say to rename the folders because there might be a reason to check them later.

Once you are ready, run the installer.
