I get the connection is not secure message on yahoo mail login. The security.mixed_content.block_display_content. fix hasn't fixed it. No problem using Edge.
I'm using Windows 10 and have had this problem intermittently but it now seems to be permanent. I've tried a Malwarebytes scan but this has revealed nothing. I can do basic computer stuff but I'm no expert. Many thanks for help.

What padlock do you see?
You can see a special padlock at the left end of the location/address bar.
- a padlock with a strike through means that mixed active content is blocked.
- a padlock with an exclamation mark attached means that mixed passive content (e.g. images) is present, but not blocked.
The shield icon, previously used for mixed active content, is now used for Tracking Protection.

You can check the Web Console (Tools -> Web Developer) for error messages about blocked and unsafe and mixed content.
- "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Web Developer
Some users with "five part" server addresses for their mail are reporting problems with the site certificates. For example:
us.mg567.mail.yahoo.com
Does it help to use a "four part" server address:
Thanks for the responses. The padlock I have is pllain unbroken greenand doesn't have an exclamation mark attached. I had a look at the Web Console but could find no error messages about blocked and unsafe content and mixed content. I did find this comment but it really doesn't mean anything to me and I have no idea how to do this should it be necessary to solve this problem.
"The version of Tabzilla you are using is deprecated and will be removed in the future.
Please update to the new static version here: https://github.com/mozilla/tabzilla/"
When I am logged in to Yahoo mail the address shown is https://mg.mail.yahoo.com/neo/launch?.rand=e3p8dvmj3vkbq
Any further advice would be appreciated.

So does that mean the problem has cleared up? What's the problem at the moment?

Oh, so on this server you don't get the green lock: https://login.yahoo.com/

A screenshot of the message that you get when you are trying to login to Yahoo mail would be heplful.
I think I know where you got the 'mixed content idea' and 'scan for malware' from : those were solutions in older threads pertaining to this issue .......

There no evidence of an insecure connection in this screenshot.
Can you post a screenshot of a page where you think that there is a security problem?
As far as I know there is no insecure connection; when I use Edge or Chrome to connect I have no problem, but I prefer to use Firefox . Below are two screenshots of the page that comes up when I attempt to login using Firefox. Before I get to this stage I have to attempt to login twice. On the first occasion I simply get asked for my password again - with no suggestion that I have given the wrong password on the first attempt. On the second attempt I get this - screenshots show both parts of page.
Thanks for your help.

Thank you for those screenshots.
If you have any security or anti-virus software installed : would you try to disable it and see if that will make a difference ?
That was my initial guess -- uk.mg41.mail.yahoo.com is not covered by the certificate because it has too many parts (five parts separated by four dots).
Does it help to use a "four part" server address when you want to log in:

Are you using a bookmark? Did you try to use this URL?
Thank you very much Cor-el. Such a delightfully simple solution to something that has been bugging me for a couple of months. Thanks again.
