When I open a new tab I get the following site undefined?uid=undefined&uc=undefined&ap=undefined&source=undefined&page=newtab&implementation_id=converter_4.1.2

I feel this may be a spam or phishing site.

Is that so?

I would not like this site to come up. How do I change that?

Chosen solution

Sounds this is caused by the Converter extension that shows in the System Details list.

You can check for recently installed suspicious or unknown extensions.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
