unable to send mail from Thunderbird

For the past several months, I have been receiving emails with no problem. But I CANNOT send an email from Thunderbird. It doesn't allow the send button to work and just sits there.. If I tried to take a Snapshot or Snip it of the screen, it would just be the email with the address I am using with the one I'm sending to. wouldn't prove too much that I am trying to send. And if you ask for one, it would be just the same. clicking on the SEND button doesn't do a thing but just sit there. I have tried looking through the help and it doesn't have anything that I did wrong with it. I check the provider and don't find anything wrong from their end as I am seeing from their site. what the hell am I to do?

First of all, try running Thunderbird in its Safe Mode in order to disable your add-ons and thereby check if any of them are causing your problem.

what am I looking for when I do? I ran in the safe mode, and tried to send, asking for a password. Have saved to the program to send since I have it working with 2 emails that use my primary SMTP for sending.

Were you able to send from Thunderbird while it is/was in 'safe mode'? If so, it's time to start investigating your add-ons one by one, can be tedious admittedly but something either updated to some state that is either not supported or misconfigured on the completed side of that change/update.

I'd recommend you start with Confirm-Address (great add-on but at times buggy with out of sync updates), or ThunderSync

Have you tried changing the password for the pop.cox.net mail account ? Similiar issue of not sending: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1089882 Logon to webmail account and update password. Then in Thunderbird, update the passwords. 'Menu icon' > 'Options' > 'Options' > 'Security' > 'Passwords' tab click on 'Saved Paswords' click on 'show passwords' right click on the cox mailbox:// mail account line and select 'Edit Password' right click on the cox smtp:// mail account line and select 'Edit Password' click on 'Close' click on 'OK' Exit Thunderbird and wait a few moments for all processes to complete. Start thunderbird.

Is it the cox account you can not send mail on or the other?

As far as I can see your other account with aelfhame.net is misconfigured as it is using the cox SMTP server. This should be mail.aelfhame.net according to the DNS information here
