shift plus char when typing in textbox reverts to previous page. disabled extensions... note no caps so can send message
I had to send this in chrome because when I use shift + char in a textbox the page goes back to the previous page. I'm using the latest version of the standard and developer. Same thing happens on both. I've disabled all the extensions. Is anyone experiencing this? Many Thanks

Thanks for your help. must have been the keyboard because it's working now. Weird though why only in Firefox. When I saw the sort of cycling through in the run box I figured it might be something to do with the Keyboard. Thanks for your help

Your control key may be stuck, or you pressed it by accident.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
Thanks for your help, but no go, same thing in safe mode. I'll shut down and try another keyboard but if it were the keyboard you'd think it would happen in all browsers/programs.
Start your Computer in safe mode. Then start Firefox. Try Safe websites. Is the problem still there?

Thanks but that didn't work either. I did a scan with Malware bytes and it didn't find anything and a quick scan with win defender nothing there either. However when i tried to enter MSconfig in the run box it was acting kind of funny kept cycling through old entries like regedit etc. ended up puting it in the search box. Not happening in other browsers though. I might try a different keyboard and just see what happens. Thanks

Glad to help. Safe Surfing.
Note that you may have suffered from a sticky backspace key or Firefox may have thought this key was pressed.
You can disable this action by setting this pref to 2 on the about:config page.
