Lately my outgoing emails are being sent to friends' junk mail. Why? And how can I stop this?

All I can think of that has happened lately are these things:

1) I updated my OS to El Capitan - all smooth, as far as I can tell.

2) I accidentally wrote a number of emails (3? 4?) to the wrong email address over a period of months. Another user had an email address very similar to that of a friend of mine, and Thunderbird kept offering me that wrong one. I failed to pick up on it until the recipient wrote back for a third time to ask me to stop; he was quite pissed. Rightfully so I guess - I should have eliminated him from my address book. Oops. Anyway, wondering if he labeled my email as spam. But would that affect any of my emails that went to other people?

Any help much appreciated.

2) Depends... if the original person and those you are currently have issues with are all in the same domain like Comcast, then yes, one loud mouthed person can cause an email address to be listed as spam. sometime it is just some fool that does not bother to unsubscribe from mailing lists.

Are we talking virgin media in the UK? They just can't get their act together about spam.

Thanks, Matt. The people aren't all on Comcast (which is my domain). They're also not on the same domain as each other. And no to your UK question. I'm stumped. But thanks. Glad to know I wasn't just being paranoid!

This is an off chance suggestion. Right click your account in the folder pane and select settings. Remove any entry in the reply-to address field. Remove any entry in the organization Ensure the email address given is correct (it probably is as it logs you into Comcast) click the manage identities. if there is only one listed close the dialog. If there is more than one check the above on each.

I did all of that and it's all set up as you describe it should be, so nothing to change. But thank you again for trying! It's funny - not all of my emails are being junked. Just some. So odd! I've also emailed comcast's spam management team. Hoping they can shed some light perhaps.
