A friend asks me to stop and then restart email to him periodically. He appears in several of my groups. It's becoming a pain.

Suggest you download this addon - MorefunctionsforAddressBook.

How to install an addon extension:

Open 'Address Book' locate contact in address book If the address book is large, use the top search to quickly locate person. it searches on the selected address book. Double click on contact name to open Properties.

Select the 'Addressbooks' tab click on 'Search' A list will appear, showing all the address books and mailing Lists which that contact is currently in. I have found this very useful in detecting where that contact is shown in various address books and lists.

Make a note of those address books and lists and click on Ok.

After you have removed contact from Mailing Lists, you can use the above method to check that they have been removed from Lists but are still in an address book.

You can then select the respective Mailing List to see contacts. If the address book is large, use the top search to quickly locate person. You can delete someone from a Mailing List and still leave them in the associated address book. Right click on contact in Mailing list and select 'Delete'

If you do not care if they are deleted from the actual address book: Note: deleting a contact from an address book will also delete them from all Mailing List sub groups associated with that address book..
