Why do I get a '7-Zip The system cannot find the file specified' when I try to download your product?

I have been using Firefox for years. I am a gamer, and I play a particular online game called Dark Orbit, put out by Bigpoint. Everything was fine until they recently sold to new owners who then preoceeded to "update" the code and glitch everything up. Apparently bits of the old code were interfering with the new. I tried all of their suggestions to get back to where the game runs smooth, clearing the browser cache, from inside Firefox, and from control panel, running CC Cleaner to clear anything missed, rebooting my computer, rebooting modem, to no avail.

So I took it upon myself to uninstall firefox (including the roaming history), intending to then reinstall it, to be sure there could be nothing lurking in the background. Wow, was that ever a mistake

Now, when I go on IE to get a fresh copy, I can't get it to download. If I choose the 'run' option, the stub installer will get to the Firefox window, I click 'install' and it starts to download but invariably stops at a certain point and then I get a small window that says "Your download was interuppted. Please click OK to continue." Clicking that brings me to a new page that houses the exe. When I try that download- either as 'run' or 'save' I get the file but when I try to open it, I get a new window that is titled '7-Zip' and says 'the system cannot find the file specified'

I can't tell you how frustrating this is to me. I hate Internet Explorer, and if I have to stick with it or get Chrome, I think I'd sooner throw my computer away, lol

I can't open the troubleshooting xpi, and the free viewer does not work

Now that I managed to find and get on your forum (think it might be easier to get into Fort Knox, lol), I read a few other posts, and am going to try booting in safe mode and installing. I will advise if this fixes my problem
